Historically these ropes have been difficult to manufacture because aramid is quite static, and you need stretch to absorb the impact of a fall with more comfort. Edelrid has found a way to integrate the aramid fibres into the rope sheath during the braiding process, hence allowing the rope to have the dynamic properties necessary for a comfortable fall with an impact force that falls within the required standard.
